You were too tired to go back to church, because the tiny goblins needed all of your attention. They still do. There was a career to build, a wedding to plan, and parenthood to stress over. Inflation, housing prices, taxes, and grocery bills occupy most of the real estate in your brain. Seminary? That was out of the question. It's not that you don't want to devote time to your walk. You just don't have the time or the money. We get that.
There's this strange idea that you have to be perfect to be a minister. You're not here to make the room fall silent with your out-of-touch piety. You know that you weren't made for the rigors of the church scene's high society. You don't have connections across six denominational conventions, an instant-in with the ordination board, or a direct line to the bishop's office. Church politics has always disgusted you. We feel exactly the same way.
Long hours at the office, your work comes home with you, and the kids need you more than anything. When you were younger, you knew for sure that you wanted to go to seminary, but you're not a college-aged kid anymore. From factory workers to corporate executives, time is your most precious resource and there's precious little to spare. What happens when you choose stability over a dream, but now there's no going back? We've been there.
We need someone to take us seriously, even when we seem like we should be the most unlikely candidate for ordination. Maybe you've been studying the Bible quietly for years, watched endless sermons, and play TBN non-stop. Maybe you're brand new to the Faith and learning. Maybe you're curious and exploring, but ready to jump in head-first. Regardless, you know you were meant to do more than just serve fries. We're here to help.
